Spectators in the Delivery Room

You will never forget the birth of your baby, nor will anyone else you allow to be in the room with you. Most fathers want to witness this phenomenal event, and it is becoming more common for siblings and other relatives and friends to witness it also.

Children

There are pros and cons to allowing young children in the labor and delivery room. Many women see birth as a family experience, one that their other children should be a part of. Some people think that including young children in the birth process increases their acceptance of the new addition to the family, and lessens sibling rivalry.

How Long a Stay

If a woman gives birth in a hospital, the length of her stay depends on several factors. It is based on the woman’s choice, how she and the baby are doing, what her insurance company will pay for, and what the hospital’s policy is.
