Aromatherapy for Anxiety

In the aftermath of terrorist attacks many are left on edge, worried, tense and angry. These emotions and feelings are natural and expected. Yet there are natural ways to help ourselves deal with these experiences and many healing gifts from mother earth herself.

In the aftermath of the attack on America, life goes on much as usual. There is, however, an underlying trace of apprehension and anxiety in each and every face you see. We as Americans, no longer feel safe and secure. We as Humans are not meant to live in fear. We must seek within to find that place of perfect peace and trust. The Universe has provided us with everything we need to heal ourselves. We must empty our hearts and minds of hatred and prejudice. We need to seek love and look to how the Pine Tree lives happily along side of the Maple. How the daisies bloom happily along side of the dandelions. Until each and every human finds that place inside of his/her heart and mind, we can turn to natural methods of healing ourselves of apprehension and anxiety.

Aromatherapy can help. Most essential oils have a balancing and sedative effect on the nervous system. The nervous system is a complex organization of integrated structures that include the brain, spinal cord, and the central and peripheral nerves. This structure controls our reaction and adjustment to both internal and external environments. The best advice to keep the nervous system healthy is to keep it active. Remain interested in world events, use and develop mental and physical skills, and continue to amass knowledge.

Lavender To help with insomnia, nervousness, anxiety, and hysteria, I recommend aromatic baths and soothing massages of the back and neck.
