In addition to a great instructor, variety is key to keeping your current members happy, and to attracting new members. Variety means offering a number of different classes, but it also means offering some of those classes at different levels for your more advanced or lessexperienced participants.
Remember, you want to keep those loyal members who show up for your 6 a.m. step class interested and challenged. You also don’t want to scare away new exercisers who may participate in a class that is too difficult for them if your club doesn’t offer a beginninglevel class.
Pre-packaged group programs offer equipment, marketing, choreography, music and more. Or, you can be creative and develop your own classes (see One Club’s Solution). The important thing is not how cutting-edge your classes are, but how much your members actually like what you offer.
